Wow it really is amazing the places you really do go in life. I never thought technology would advance this far in my lifetime. Oh how frustrated I was when I was first introduced to pcs in 1982. The course was "Computer Programming for Beginners". I was so confused about all of those 1111s and 000s. Thank goodness we don't have to write our own programs.
Today I no longer have a fear of technology and have learned to love and embrace it. It's so exciting to see what the future holds. I'm living proof that you really can teach an old dog new tricks.
I love my job as librarian at Bell Manor Elementary School. Being more than a mere guardian of books, I embrace the challenge of teaching students to become effective users of information. Now in my 8th year as a library, I can say truthfully that I've never had a dull, boring day.
I graduated from Stephen F. Austin with a degree in elementary education. I taught special education for 6 yrs at Lufkin Middle School. While my job was rewarding, it was not really what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.
With advances in online learning, came the opportunity to get my library endorsement. The rest is history. I love my job! HEB is the best place to be!
When I'm not busy being a "liberry lady" I enjoy reading, cooking, gardening, and hanging out with my husband and three chihuahua "kids". I'm really just a small town homebody at heart.
