Library 2.0

In the beginning I really didn't understand the concept of Web 2.0 and Library 2.0. Now I get it! Now I can embrace the new technologies and am excited about using them to my advantage. Our job is not disappearing; it's just expanding beyond the four corners of our little school library walls. We can now use what we already do and show it to the world. Tagging, RSS feeds, etc. make it so much easier for us to teach our kids and others across the globe to become effective users of information.

Wikkis

I didn't think Wikkis would ever interest me, but I love them! The practical uses are limitless. I think back how difficult it was when I first started trying to create a web page using complicated programs. What I really like about Wikkis is their ease of use. They are so easy to create and use. They would be great for having a "Book of the Week". I could booktalk a book and students could read it and comment on it. This would be good for motivating those relunctant readers who have a hard time choosing a book.

Del.icio.us

Del.icio.us truly did whet my appetite. Just one bite is not enough! This tool has sooo many applications. I'm always searching for sites for teachers as well as students. What a wonderful way to organize them and the tags are a lifesaver. Wow, how much time I'm going to save. Now I'll have all the info I need available will be able to find it in a flash.

Play Time III

Rollyo is a very nice tool indeed. It's a great Public Relations tool for school librarians. I know the teachers will think we are really techno geeks when we show them this tool. My searchroll shows cool tools for librarians.
